This role is for a Senior GoLang Software Developer to work on a next generation cloud-agnostic, micro-service network management platform.
Based in the UK.
Job Accountabilities
- Build high quality software using cutting edge technologies in collaboration with other team members. Crafting large scale service-oriented systems
- Own the work, add tests and metrics and participate to code reviews
- Help the team with defining architectures that will scale and encourage best practices.
- Provide technical leadership to more junior engineers.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
- Software Development of workflow
- Work within a self-organizing and cross-functional Agile team
- Apply TDD and BDD approaches to ensure that quality is baked into the implementation
- Software performance optimisation
- Restful API design for use in a real time environment.
Experience Needed
- 3+ years of industry experience building mission-critical software applications in a collaborative and team-focused environment.
- Experience with Go, Python, or other modern programming language. C++ knowledge a plus.
- Familiarity with database concepts (NoSQL and/or relational).
- Familiarity with Linux or Unix.
- 2+ years of experience with GoLang Development and confidence operating cloud infrastructures.
- Front-end development experience a plus.
- DevOps skills, especially leveraging open source tools (Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana) a plus.
- Sound understanding of agile software development best practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, alerting and documentation.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of BPMN2 / DAG
- Experience with at least one workflow engine
- Kafka / RedPanda
- gRPC
- Demonstrable experience monitoring applications
- Prometheus and Grafana
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
